89 302 EFI swap to Carb
I have an '89 Bronco with a weak EFI 302. The motor is still pretty tight, but i plan on rebuilding it next fall. It has 120K on it. Im looking to add some power, but my options are very limited, and expensive due to the speed density fuel injection. I was considering converting to carburation, which would be cheaper to make more power. Has anyone done this? I now that to start i would need an older bronco gas tank (early 80's), trans kick down, and throttle cable. But other thatn than that what kind of problems am i looking at? Im would like to get 250-275hp out of this motor.

I wouldn't think it would be too hard. You would need an intake manifold with EGR provisions, electric fuel pump (you timing cover wont have the mounting port for the mech fuel pump), carburator, possibly a different distributor, you can get away with using your current tank just plug up the return port, and a fuel press regulator. These are the only things I can think of off the top of my head right now. Hope this helps.

Instead of electric pump just pump a different timing cover on engine. Most EFI engines still had fuel pump eccentric on cam. However, pay attention if you do this, EFI motors have reverse rotation water pump which needs different timing cover. I think the 85 Mustang was the only timing cover to have both reverse water pump and fuel pump mount.
