Tranny swap

Question for the guru's. sorry folks i have asked this question before but am having a serious senior moment and cannot find where i stored the material. I was putting a 300 - 6 cyl. c-6 auto from a 1980 - F-150 in a 1972 F-250 over the weekend and when i took the tranny apart to change the filter and gasket i found parts in the bottom of the tranny. in either case it is not going to be used. my question is. i took out a 390 with a c-6 auto in it. motor was toast. keeper came off the wrist pin and did a number on the piston wall. anyway will the c-6 from the 390 bolt up to the 1980 300- 6 cyl. thanks a lot Dutch
