Static Timing on '87 6.9L?
I have just bought my very first pick up truck! It's an '87 F-250 Diesel with the 6.9 Liter v-8. I am replacing the head gaskets on it, but in a moment of stupidity removed the fuel injector gear from the camshaft gear without making any marks for timing. 
Is there a way to put it back together based on scribe marks or some other timing marks already on the gears? My repair manual seems to indicate that it's possible, has anyone had experience with this? Thanks.
