Took me two trips yesterday to get mine. First trip the manager shot me down with the same crap about the black grip top (extra guard is the filtering media not the sure grip stuff). So, went home and printed the honeywell page saying the filter was extra guard and they took the coupon after seeing that. BTW he took the printout and stapled the coupon to it to defend the override against "mama" pep boys.

Las Vegas Pepboys

For everyone living in the Las Vegas valley the Pepboys on Tropicana Ave and Mountain Vista honors the coupons. All the lady did was type in an override price. I'll be going back everyday until the coupons expire on the 19th!

thedaddycat is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I got three Wal-Marts to price match so I now have a baker's dozen of them(cleaned them out but not all had four on the shelves). I'll be going back to Pep Boys to get a few more before the sale ends. If I can pull it off I'll have 20 on the shelf by Saturday....

I just printed two cupons and I will try it today. I have a Pep Boys near work, and one down the street from the house. I may have been a bit optimistic, but what the heck. If I cant get the filters for the truck, I can always buy the filters for other vehicles in the barn.

I never tried the price match deal at walmart, that seems like a good way to reel in more filters.
That was me Sourbeer, and thanks again.

I wish this would have been going on a few weeks ago. I was in Chicago for a wedding and drove past about 3 different Pep Boys. None of them here in Central IL though.

Went to Walmart today armed with two Pepboys coupons. The lady didn't really want to let the filters go for $3.50 each but after several trips to her Manager and even a phone call to Pepboys she finally sold me four filters. As soon as she called Pepboys I thought I was finished, but she hung up and told me the coupons were good and that Pepboys honors them too. I now have 6 filters. $120 worth of filters for under $25!

I bought four for 14.00+tax, the young girl called the manager up after ringing them up and they scanned for 20 dollars a piece, he looked at her stupid and said "what does it say then give him them for 2 for 7, by the way the coupons are in the flyers/sale papers in the front of store just like the grocery store so no need to print them out.
can u say sweeeeeet!

i would love to rob walmart like that. perhaps i should have tried that!

Maxium4x4 - does either of the oil filter numbers work on the 6.0's? i'm shocked but there is an IH dealer a few miles outside of town, i plan on calling and comparing prices.

well shoot, called the international guys and i'm no better off getting oil filters there, but they're fuel filters are almost 20 bucks cheaper than the ones i just put on the thing. 33 bucks is a lot better than 50, and straight from the engine maker. don't ask me what i put on it, i forgot, still didn't know jack when i bought 'em!

i hope pep boys runs another one o' them deals pretty quick, it'd give me a helluva an excuse to go home for the weekend & see the parents.

Last Day of sale

I went in today and the manager could not get it to come up for 7.00, kept comming up at 6.00. So he said it must be a cheaper filter and gave it to me for six bucks...Delaware no sales tax too...Two filters out the door for six bucks..Hope they run it again..

I went to O'Reilly's who doesn't price match on sales and Advance who argued with me that it wasnt an extra guard. I offered to pull it up on their website but I just got, "well... it isnt and extra guard". Ignorant ********

I printed the Honeywell page that shows it as Extraguard, took that with me everywhere I went. I made sure to point that out right off the bat. I'd show them the flier and say "The coupon is for "Extraguard" filters and here's a printout from the manufacturer that shows the CH9549 as an "Extraguard" filter so you know that this does apply to this filter...." I didn't leave room for that argument to even surface. So far I have 17 filters and I'll stop at one last Pep Boys on the way in to work tonight and score 4 more with any luck.
