Nice rig, those stacks are painting the front of your 5er huh? The only downside to hauling with a diesel in the rain....the side of my toy hauler gets that way too.
x2 what Rog says, its probably the Fuel pump. Could be the filter housing too, ie. drain lever, sensors on the filter housing, fuel lines ect.....but close inspection of the engine valley should find it.
The trans needs to come out to replace the shift forks.
