true duel conversion for 300?

i am currently building a 65 f250 . i have installed a 1986 300 i6 into the truck to replace the blown 240.i recently aquired a set of true duel exaust manifolds for the 300.my question is how do you convert the original intake over to the true duels .the single exhaust manifold and intake bolt together and if i remove the exhaust that will leave a opening in the bottom of the intake won't it? someone told me it was possible to just weld a plate over the hole in the bottom of the intake and this would cure the problem but i am not sure. and is their any problems with the true duel exhaust i should watch out for, because i have read pro's and cons for the true duel set up .some people say you can't use true duels on a carburated engine and others say their is no problem..............................any advice would be appriciated

Search the forums, this is a beat to death topic. The only thing to watch out for that i know of is the alt bracket. You may have to cut a bit of it out to get headers on there, if you're using the EFI exhaust the you should be fine.

That is just an indentation in the bottom of the intake...it doesn't go any where. But, if you are going to need manifold heat you can fabricate a plate plumbed with hose barbs and bolt it to the manifold and run water heat through it from a heater hose. The stock arrangement provided this by means of exhaust heat.

There are a few valid pros and cons...but mostly just differences in opinion. It is a fact that a carbureted engine can be dualed out.
