Stupid boy...I don't know what to do...

So,I got a problem.
I'm 18 years old(turning 19 in early June) and I'm engaged to the best girl in the world,She loves mud and loves both my trucks. Were planning on getting married in August of 2009.

There's only one problem.

She lives about 54 miles north of my house and I end up going up there at least every weekend and feed the old gas hog most of my check through out the weekend and week. Also she doesn't have a vehicle to drive.I don't only feed my paycheck to that but it does take quite a bit.
My main problem is that I want to finish my other truck.I don't want her to get upset with me.She understands that I want to do that but she loves being with me most weekends.Which means money is spent on gas.

I want to be able to see her,but I also want to get my truck done. What should I do?I don't want to make it seem like my truck is more important to me than she is because it's not.But it is pretty important to me.So,what should I do?

Thanks.

Work on the truck from when you get home on Friday until midnight or so then you can spend the rest of the weekend with her.

+1 to that!

my '72 harley gets like 50 mpg

is the main problem not having time to work on truck, or not having money due to gas?
maybe talk to her and see if she could help with gas? or maybe she would be willing to help out on the truck so you could kill two birds with one stone sort-a-speak

Both time and money. Most of the time I work and go to school during the week.Sometimes during the weekend but I still usually have time.Maybe I'll ask her to help out with gas.Hopefully she will.I'll feel kinda guilty asking, but I guess.

Any other advice?

any transit up that way or friends that head that way. you'll be without you're truck while you're there, but that's quality time together

Maybe she could find a way to get to you once in a while and help you work on your truck. Now that'd be good. It has to be a 50-50 road here. My ex lives 30 miles a way from me, but we managed to be together like 5 days a week. We traded off driving. She had a car tho.

You might have to put the truck on hold until you'e living together or break off the engagement and spend all your free time with the trucks

I love my trucks to death, but I'd think a fiance would be much more important. That being said, you're truck will never do you wrong lol.

Maybe you could lets say spend one weekend with her then spend the other weekend working on the truck. just keep going back and forth, you will get to work on your truck and also get to see her just not as often. I understand where your coming from, I sort of was in the same problem as you but now we live together.

18 is awfully young to be talking about marriage. How long have you two been together?

A truck won't leave you when your money runs out....

Motorcycle. I know a guy who bought a decent used one for 2800 bucks, gets about 35-40 depending on how hard he rides it. With diesel heading fast for $4/gallon all the time, I'm seriously thinking about one.

But I don't have a fiance to yell at me if I lay it down and leave half my hide on the asphalt. So spend some money on leathers if you get one.
