From what I'm reading I don't think it was a regen. (But I really don't know)
It hesitated and jumped so bad under accelaration, until you held it to the floor and then it would take off until about 60 mph then it fell on it's face again. To me it felt like a injector was stuck open loading up a cylinder or two until it got cleaned out.
I'm still impatiently waiting to hear from the dealer on the diagnosis.
Would sitting there at idle for a hour have anything to do with it?

You should not let the 6.4 idle for any extended period of time. An hour idling is considered an extended period of time.

Well I just off the phone with the Ford Dealership.
It is one bad injector and it comes with a new fuel line.
This is the first one that the Ford Diesel guys have done there.
Should be done Monday Night.

This might apply to your truck, you would have to check the build date.

Certain vehicles built from April 3, 2007 through May 21, 2007

In some of the affected vehicles, three fuel injectors were subjected to a reverse polarity voltage during engine testing that may have damaged the injector resulting in reduced fuel flow. This may potentially cause the vehicle to run rough, hesitate, or stumble on acceleration.

Replace Fuel Injectors #1, #5, and #7 All in-stock vehicles must be repaired prior to delivery. Customer vehicles are to be given priority over in-stock vehicles.

Yep, and this pretty much goes for any of the new emission standard diesels. Ideally you want your engine working hard enough to cut fuel assisted regenerations to a minimum.

I'm doing my part to reduce food imports, control rising food costs and help feed the children, my trucks run on 100% petroleum diesel. What are you doing?

I will keep my idle times down from now on. Never realized that before, Thank You for the info. I still have allot of reading and learning to do about this truck.

I go pick up a rental in the morning from the dealer so I will check into which injector is being replaced. And I can check the build date also.

I'm really enjoying this site and everybody has been very helpful.
Thank you all so very much.

Well I was suppose to get my truck back today from getting the new injector put in, but I guess it's allot of work to put 1 injector in (more than 1 day work). This is the diesel mechanics first 08 he has done. I guess he worked on it most of the day? At least that's what they said.
How hard are they to do?

Being his first time is a good and a bad thing...these trucks have been out 16 months and if this is his first either he is new or there haven't been many issues. At least it is warranty work and you won't get charged for his time.

It's under warranty and the guy I bought the truck from is paying the deductible, but I'm just curious how long it takes to put one in?
More than 8 hours seems a little excessive for a injector to me, but I don't know how hard it is.

Hello all;
If my understanding is correct, the cab has to come off to change most of the injectors. If this is true, then over a day is probably accurate. Most of that time was getting to the top of the engine, then an hour of two to do the change and then reassemble everything.

I have a 2008 Lariat F-450 SuperDuty with 1200 miles on it. I just had a SCT Livewire Flash Tuner installed and custom 5 inch exhaust installed from the cat back. It started running bad and was stuttering and lost power. The SCT moniter gave me a code and it was a code for the number 6 injector. I found out what the code means. It is telling me that the injector circuit or the injector in stuck open. I took it to Ford and they said they will look at it but are not sure if it is Ford problem or from having the SCT Livewire tuner on it, of course they will tell me it is my fault, maybe not. I will find out in the next day or so.

The injectors can be removed in body without lifting the cab.

Well got back into town and picked up my truck tonight. It's all good to go.
It was # 6 Injector that was bad so that's replaced. Had the tranny flush, fuel filter and oil change done also. And they did the recall on the seat. Put a clamp kit on?
What is the issue with this seat? Are the backrests breaking?

Time to put some miles on this truck and see what it can do.

Thanks for the tip on the injectors Maxium4x4. My truck does have a build date of 2-13-07.
