What have you done to your truck today?
That looks like a nice piece. I've been thinking about picking up a new y pipe for mine but I didn't know how easy it was to install on the 4.9 and if I'd be able to plumb back to the existing muffler without having new pipes made.
I've been wondering if the factory cats are getting clogged.
Mine are probably in better shape than that. I figured a single high flow one might be a more efficient setup though. I've been tossing the idea around for a year now.
Swapped my rusty long tubes for a like new set of BBK shortys I had from a Mustang, scratch built a Y-pipe, installed a thrush "welded" muffler and dumped it before the rear tire. Sounds great, but I wont be using Mustang shorties on an F150 again, they would probably work better on a 2wd, building the Y-pipe was a pain in the rear.
Also got 3 of my '96 Alcoas mounted and tires flipped around to have the white letters facing out, looks like a totally different truck

Spent the weekend wheeling and camping. Had a blast with the F150. It is still much better suited for offroad use. Unfortunately as some point the passenger side inner brake pad decided to come apart. Needs new pads, a rotor and a caliper now as well as the hubs seem to be leaking. Not bad for 2 years of wheeling on $10 craigslist hubs. SOOOO nice having the Ranger for a daily as I don't have to stress fixing the F150 for the work week.
Today I ran the diagnostic test through the eec test connector. Jumped the connectors and got 172. Gotta figure out where to go from that. Not sure if an oxygen sensor replacement is going to do the trick. Not to mention, I don't think the O2 sensor would even come out, or how I would get it out.
The Smog is Fine, no sense Having Codes Pop up. Also I have already Done it to my 92. Easier to tune a A9L for that.
Well reassembled the rest of the front end, after fighting with the oil pump shaft for what seemed like an eternity, gave up for the night. Just going to have to pick up some petroleum jelly, and fight the good fight tomorrow night.
