Over the last few weeks I've put in new battery cables, rear tank, pump, fuel level sender, and a used dual function reservoir valve. Once I get a new pump in the front tank I will have both thanks again.

Rebuilt the F350 donor front drive shaft with greasable U joints and drilled the centering yoke so it could be greased too.

Speeds over 30 mph caused a buch of noise with the F250 shaft…now highway speeds are a non-issue.

Looked like this when I bought it few months back,

Little rusty around the gills but nothing serious.

No tailgate side damage from deer hit.

To this,

Worked on it as time/weather permitted..... not completely done yet but are they ever?!!

Looks like I finally have a day full of repairs, new exhaust and new battery.
Just have to pick up the new y-pipe.
Also I've been driving my work truck for about 10 weeks straight so it's actually nice to be able to use the toys this summer

Thanks yea its gonna plow snow but wanted it to look decent doing so, its what do they call it? a 10 10 ....well a 5 5 paint job, @ 5mph or 5 feet it looks great.

Thought I catch at least some flak/ribbing for the box being incorrect for the model year, maybe nobody noticed (or just didn't want to say!!)

Was going to replace the sides on the original box as everything else is solid but ran into a deal on the rust free box that's on it and only couple miles from here, it needed only very minor body work then shot with paint to run it so I went with it for now instead.

I did notice the 80-86 bed on it, I like the square fender arch much better than the later beds so I chose to say nothing Anyhow, great work and beautiful truck!

Yea I was worried it might clash, I found a one the other way around a 92-97 box on a 80-86 truck (IIRC was one of Brad's) posted here on the forum few months back looking for an example but I didn't find one the same way for a visual before going forward with it though.

My back up plan if came to it was fender flairs, if possible and if I could find any that would work for both models to start with, but I think it looks just fine as is.

Body line looks works out, starts at bottom of front fender across bottom of door up over rear fender well then ends at the back bumper, so has some continuity to it far as that goes.

I put new fenders on it as well as a new core support, I put its old front clip on my 94 to get a few more miles out of it. Several years plowing snow its core support and fenders where pretty much gone you could see the computer standing next to the truck, not an ideal condition in a snow plow truck!

All work was done outside in the driveway with single stage Nason paint. I used medium reducer and ful-cryl II activator I'm real happy with how well it blends in with the original paint (my cell phone camera really doesn't do it justice far as that goes).

Its paint code "FN" FN = Medium Toreador Red (CC/Met) Red, I just gave my local auto parts the code.

I used SS paint so I wouldn't have to deal with clear coat if and when it needs a touch up. I was more interested in all metal covered with paint and easily repaired in the future over attempt at show room type finish. I'm not what anyone would call a body man, my little bit of orange peal here or there and small run on the fuel door doesn't bother me in the least.

I replaced both fuel tanks while I had the box off, I coated the frame and running gear with Chassis Saver two good coats. It looks nice on the bottom side too!
I coated the new tanks and their straps twice before putting them in and of course the front and rear plow mounts got hit with two coats of it as well.

I put new shocks on it all the way around, really improved its ride quality.

More to do but it'll be ready before the first snowflake hits the ground this fall.

I picked up a real nice 8' unimount for the front of it about a month ago, still looking for a decent rear blade yet though. I have two one small one large but neither large enough for it as equipped.

Gonna try plowing running its manual trans so want wider/larger blades on it to move more snow in fewer passes. A choice I might regret but have couple options for automatics on stand by just in case I don't like plowing with a manual trans truck! I'd like to keep the manual but its been years since I plowed with anything with a manual trans.
