Removed the stupid oil cooler that was leaking like a sive, replaced the blown freeze plug, installed a brand new starter solenoid, installed the starter, and changed the oil on the 95 F250 351.

Also dad broke the brand new solenoid, I broke the solenoid on the starter, and their is another blown freeze plug. Good news is that the oil cooler is now gone.
Didn't even try working on my baby today decided not to. Will on Wednesday when I am off though.

Finally got started on the tear down and refurb of the '06 Super Duty axles I bought last November. So far, no surprises. Rear axle needs rotors, pads, parking brake shoes and hardware, and backing plates. I'll get those ordered up soon, in the meantime I'm prepping it for paint. Pulled the diff cover today and verified it is indeed a 3.73 LS.

pick up another '92 to use for parts

ran the vin number and the parts truck has 3.08 gears

i will go over everything and repaint the axles before installing them - be interesting to see how those 3.08 gears move my 31" wheels

i will also grab the starter, alternator, transfer case, gas tanks, rad support, and any other part that might come in handy down the road

If it is on the truck in your sig I highly suggest you start thinking about buying some gears. The 302 with those gears are going to feel like pushing a tank with a lawn mower engine. I would suggest going to 4.10 or 4.56 gears that is what I am going to do on my 302 F150 with 31" tires.

I currently have 4.10 gears on that '92 in my sig. My top speed is about 65mph and it just won't cut it for highway travel. Maybe 3.73 or 3.55 would be a happier medium, but I need the practice and these 3.08 gears are free so they're going in for a test run.

Yesterday I finished replacing my old tired coil springs with Moog progressive springs. That raised the front end a couple of inches and the truck has a better ride. Tires also stand up straight again instead of leaning in at the top!

I'm not sure what the result will be, but I will post up once the change is done and I've taken it out on the road a few times.

Just replaced the serp belt and found that the belt is pleasantly the same belt I bought so I'm going to see if I can exchange it under the life time warranty instead!! yay! oh and I will add that this is the first time doing it by my self and same for the mustang (I did the stang first as its must simpler and easy to get into the compartment and work the belt around as well (had the help of a Ford buddy at work to lift the tensioner so I could put the belt back on…

Changed the coil and the plug wires on my 94. Now it starts so fast it almost doesn't turn over before it's running.

I've got 31" tires on my truck (in my sig) with 3.55 gears and the 5.8 engine. I certainly don't like the lack of power over the stock tires. I think you will definitely need to re gear to at least 4.10 otherwise you'll feel like your truck has lost four cylinders.

I got the truck sold on Wednesday. Just more work needed than I was interested, or had the money for at this time. I am now in search of what is next. There are a couple mid 90's 7.3 non-turbo's for sale nearby that I have inquired on. Interested to see what comes of it. Not rushing into a purchase, but definitely keeping my eyes open for a decent deal.

I'm sure my truck has 4.10 gears in it already. My problem is that I can only get to about 60-65 mph on the highway. The speed limit here is 60 mph so I'd need about 5 miles of open road to pass someone.

My '95 has 33" tires (285/75r16) with 3.55 gears, being pushed around by a 4.9 sixer. It's not winning any races, but its definitely not terrible to drive. It has a 5 speed which helps a little.. For a daily driver/winter beater its fine. I've always meant to gear it to 4.10's, but haven't done so yet.. I will say that 5th gear is useless unless I'm on the highway.. but at 60 mph, its only turning about 1800 rpm .. I drive mostly gravel, and just leave 'er in 4th
