Changed the fluid in my M5OD today, that was what was on the drain plug...164k miles, trans was marked 100k on the case so I'm guessing it was changed at least once at that mileage

Filled it with mercon V, seems to shift smoother

Trim

Think I'd remove the trim moldings rather than paint over them

Thats what I was going to do but they where all faded and scratched. I thought that if I didn't like it I could get new trim. I will give it some time.

Picked up a diamond plate tailgate cap off a 70s to 80s chevy for my 88 F150. Fits better then I thought it would.

It's the rubber bump strips I was talking about, They are just glued on. XL trucks don't have them, and have that clean look.

Tore out my rear end today (bad pinion bearing) and just about got done with putting in the new junkyard unit...

I'm debating on rebuilding the old axle and putting 4.10 gears and explored disk brakes on it.. It that's even a possibility which i think it is since they are both 8.8 rear axles and I would just have to re drill the rotors maybe

Well I have no pictures of the work going on with the F150, but it is currently at the class shop getting where I am putting a shift kit in it.

As for the Ranger, I went ahead and washed and waxed it and also put the factory bedside decals back on.

Finally tucked my Radar Detector up high, over the rear view mirror and ran the wires behind the trim for a clean look.

Then a tuneup (Plugs, wires, distributor cap/ rotary button) and an oil change.

Polished on the wheels some, and after tearing a mirror off in the snow storm, have a new set on the way. Should be here today.

Oh, and replaced the upper radiator hose also.

I've had my truck just over a week and so far I've done the following:

Re-attached the driver seat armrest that was missing the bolt. Had to get a bolt from the dealer.

Replaced the melted third brake light socket
Replaced all cluster bulbs
Replaced stereo
Replaced dome light with later model one
Replaced trailer tow harness
Replaced under hood light
Replaced various trim pieces that were either missing or broken

Purchased an original owners manual

Have new spark plugs, wheel center caps, speakers, various other parts that the previous "mechanic" "forgot" to re-install on order.

Got under the truck after work to finally see why my 97 F250 is in limp mode with the o/d light blinking. Well, the friggin passenger side plug...was on the other side just hanging, not plugged in at all. I bought the truck this past November and plowed my 400 foot driveway the entire winter like this. I tried plugging it in and did, but with little hope as I realized one of the pins are broken and stuck in the plug connector. So looks like I will be needing a new Solenoid pack. If anyone happens to have one for a 97 e4od, let me know. Thanks. Feel good about my discovery though. Been so cold, been wondering about this problem for months.
