Over about the past month I have been doing a engine and transmission rebuild on my 78 F-150 with a 302 c4. Here is a thread of my progress, from start to finish: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ml#post7910871

Here is a before and after pic:
Before:

After:

I haven't forgotten about my 94, I have been saving up for new shocks and a leveling kit, as well as some service stuff. Its just been my trouble free driver.

Yeah two reasons
1. It didn't work
2. the extra pulleys were causing a horrible engine vibration.
It was a dealer installed system. I did keep all the parts in case I ever wanted it.

Fixed my radiator leak, bought some DCA4 for the coolant, turned the fuel up a tiny bit, installed the tailgate panel(s) the right way with bolts that are the proper size, did some spray-painting... nothing major really, fairly slow afternoon.

The old girl looked so peaceful..stretching out in the sun on the laneway this morning, I didn't have the heart to wake her.
She's been doing a lot of back woods recon lately in search of new fishing spots, so I thought I'd give her a rest today. Maybe I'll go out and give her a lube later.

Over the past week I moved my fifth wheeler to its site for next year. The 300 did great hauling the 4100lb trailer over hill and dale in western Maine. Removed the hitch and used the truck to move camping stuff from the old site. On the way home the starter just clicked and then caught when we stopped to eat. Wife said starter is going. Next morning the starter just clicked. Got out the trusty DVM and had 12.8v right up to the starter. Open circuit in the starter. I was grateful that it failed at home and on a good day September. The old starter did have a bad solenoid and some burned terminals. Replaced the spade connector and cleaned the rest of the connectors. Replaced it in less than hour from start to finish. I love this engine.

Even though my truck is kinda a beater I still take pride in it's appearance.

It's an '89 and the strip on the tailgate that said "FORD" (white or silver on red background) was ripped/taken off.

That left just the aluminum "facade".

I either wanted the strip back or something else. It looked ugly. Low priority item since it was aesthetic but still it bugged me.

Yesterday I took off the aluminum piece and saw that that tailgate already had "FORD" on it - the big letters - underneath this cover. Yesss.....

I'm going to fill the holes left by the aluminum piece mounts and paint the letters on the tailgate.

Yeah - love the cheap fixes.

Kinda like that older style better. Big bold FORD on the tailgate.

I'll post pic's in my garage and add to this thread. Probably not a big deal to a lot of you but everything is subjective and relative isn't it?
