A few days late, but...
I picked up a 91 F150 4x4 xlt lariat last Sunday. 136k miles PS, PL( not working), A/C ( inop), auto. Body is straight, paint is junk on the hood. Came with a nice Aluminum diamond plate tool box, bed rails, and bed liner. Cost??? 2,000.
Drove it home and replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, battery ( had a marine battery) air filter, pcv, and gave it a good cleaning.
Has several leaks, valve cover, oil pan, rear main seal ( i think) I degreased and power washed but had to fly back to Korea so other items will wait.
Plan on a tranny flush, change diff fluid and transfercase fluid and some 30x9.5 MTs. Should make a damn good beater/ fishing and hunting truck.
This should keep me entertained tinkering on it when I retire from the Army this December!
Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.
Greg

GT4660:
If you have any pictures of the truck-be sure to post them here. I would also suggest replacing the oxygen sensor with that mileage of 136k. Can make a difference in the throttle response and MPG. My 96k F150 perked up with a new OS.
I would also suggest 31" tires and not the 30"ers. 31s should fit without a problem even on a stock 91 F150.

Let my B.I.L. use my Raven (Friday) while his '07 is in the shop for tranny issues. And now I'm having anxiety attacks. I'm sure he will treat her with care, but as you guys out there know, it's like when your daughter goes to the prom...When I get her back, we will go on a nice long ride in the country. (I will do anything to help my family, but when the situation leaves an empty spot in front of the house, well...) Am I over-reacting?
