I replaced the worn out rear leaf spring packs with a set that St. Louis Spring Co. made up for me. I had them arched 2" taller than stock, with an extra leaf and an extra overload leaf. Now the truck sits the way it should, and it rides much better.

Painted the valve cover, air cleaner, power steer pump brackets, motor mount brakets, and alternator brackets on the 300. If all goes well, I should have it sitting in the truck by tomorrow night.

Bought a used F350 dually long box bed. I think I found the right Dually Axle, waiting for answers from the smart folks on this forum, then will decide what to do on the FE. either Dana 60 mono-beam, or Arrocraft Hub adapters. still up in the air, so far total part investment $400.

one other item, replaced the RED 12v lead from the Starter sol to the battery, the truck wouldn't start, if I took the starter lead over to the positive battery terminal,, rrrr...rrrr....rrrr. the motor woud turn over, if I took the same lead and touched the other side of the solenoid where the battery lead was connected, the whole truck would act like the battery died... hmmmm..... I believe, even though the lead looked decent, the connection internally to the lead ends were breaking down and not conducting. That was a good one to figure out... Wheeeeee...... Anyway,,, no more starting problems, at least to date...

Happy New year all

Changed rear wheel cyls, and axle brake lines, as they were seized into the fittings, then I greased up everything I could, and changed the front diff fluid.

Replaced the broken A-pillars and driverside window crank with good ones from the junkyard. I plan on painting the new (to me) tailgate for it tomorrow and installing it on Sunday hopefully.

Well inspected new blue today - she is legit.

Then yanked out the 180 degree stat with 3 3/16th holes in it and put in another 180 degree with 1 1/8th hole in it. moved the body harness retention bracket out of the way of the shifter, replaced the TB lower hose.

Failed to find a faint whir noise at highway speed - think its a tight wheel bearing.

Those bumpers look great! Did you use the Duplicolor bedliner stuff? I love that stuff, when I rebuilt the 92 SHO I have, I used it on the subframe and some other areas. I never thought of using it on bumpers, great idea!
