That and the thing was a complete dog with the 33's. It had no power going up any hill. It drives much better with the 31's. It is also a heck of a lot easier to maneuver through parking lots with the 31's.

Finally got around to pulling the headlight, etc out to assess the damage from the deer.

Looks like a new header panel is a must (But this one will work until then) and the turn signal needs to be replaced (Already got a spare set) and the headlight needs to be replaced. The entire housing is shattered on mine.

Thought once about finding an OEM one and just swapping the lenses out.

Just depends.

Be warned, the lenses are a MASSIVE pain to remove from the housings. It can be done, but you have to be VERY patient.

I have time, and patience. Money, not so much (Gotta love being unemployed).

I mean for $60 I can simply order new lights, but mine has a good lens; just needs the bucket replaced.

I figure that $60 could very well pay for a tank of fuel, or a new Header Panel (Mine got kinda busted)

I have an extra set of headlights from my 93. I got new ones because the old ones were getting a bit yellowed. They are solid though and you are more than welcome to have them or just the one for the cost of shipping. I just hate to throw them out. Just PM me if you are interested or want to see a pic first.

I appreciate the offer. I think I have my old ones around here somewhere.

Soon as work picks up, I'll probably just go on and buy a new set of smoked ones.

I removed the left side license plate light and opened the hole up so I can put my trailer harness plug there. Now to get off my lazy butt and finish the job. LOL

update on the Wookie Killing Machine

I have gotten new sun visors and a bronco center console that sits pretty well in the bench seat. They all match in color being a burgundy red versus the cabs original tan. As I go I plan on switching out strategic pieces to create a specific clash. The alternator bearing was making that great metal on metal sound every mechanic learns about eventually, so that got changed out. Traded out my instrument cluster for one that has a Tach in it. And before anyone starts I am used to having them and a tach can tell you info that is helpful in diagnosing and eliminating problems. The speedo from my original quit after it was removed so i had to use the transfer on. Thankfully the mileage isnt to much more.. And i got a pair of wranglers put on her that are at. those new tires helped the get up and go for sure, just need to reset the size on the speedo. just need to get an alligator clip set up and I am fine. next is the headliner foam and to install the sun visors. will do that and change the reservoir and battery this weekend.

I had a few spare hours today so I did a little work to the freebie F350…

I polished the yellow off of the headlights so I'll be able to see a bit better at night. I cleaned up the front bumper which turned out very nice.

I also cleaned up the aftermarket square tube grille and that looks OK but I'll pull it off sometime before winter and dip it in my molasses tank that will strip it of all surface rust. Then I can touch it up with a little spray paint to make it look a little nicer.

Then I turned my attention to the engine compartment. I cleaned up the dirt and grime along the left side inner fender and then pulled off the air cleaner and the intake tubes from the throttle body. I found one side plugged with the dehydrated remains of a lemon blocking one tube completely (the truck spent ten years parked under two lemon trees)… I wonder if my fuel economy and performance were affected on my ride back from California last month…

Here's a before pic...

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...0/GEDC1115.jpg

Then after a little time with some 1500 wet/dry paper and a little Megauirs swirl remover.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...0/GEDC1120.jpg
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...0/GEDC1121.jpg

I'm really amazed at how nice the paint is (-the delaminating!)… I would bet there aren't 15 stone chips on the front end including the hood and valance panel under the grille. The chrome on the bumper is somewhat weather worn but there's no rust at all even under the bumper bolts.

Do you think you'll see a MPG improvement?
