Evan.. Autozone had $5 a gallon valvoline diesel oil on the back shelf.. I bought 6 of them for $30
I was going for the Rotella specifically. Had several mber here recommend it and I read nothing but great reviews on it. $5 a gallon for oil is a great deal though.
Don't get me wrong I like rotella... But if it all comes in the same 55 gallon barrel from bigger companies.. It's just branded rotella and charging you $17 a gallon.. $5 a gallon valvoline came out of the same barrel.. That's the only good point one work there brought up to me.. Same barrel different name
Got the new water pump in. Also put in a new thermostat. Word of advice, check all the bolts once you have heated the truck. I found I had a leak coming from the passenger side timing cover where it meets the block. Turns out one of the bolts that I thought was tight was completely loose after the block was hot. Tightened them up and no leaks. She lives again.
I finally got rear tank to work.. All the gas stations would say its full and wouldn't take gas.. So I finally got a chance and did it myself.. You have to push the nozzle in more and I got about 7 gallons in.. I didn't wanna fill it up and see that the sending unit didn't work.. So that's good it does.. A new one cost $500+ from motorcraft.. 1 more thing down on the list
That's a ridiculous waste of money. The FDM is the only thing that really goes on these trucks. Most times if the fuel gauge doesn't work it's a broken wire or something. I ended up getting a Walbro FDM for about $120, re-used the stock sending unit.
Thanks bob that's nice to know that there's a cheapie fix.. Everything works from gauge to sending unit I just didn't know you had to push nozzle in further to get it to fuel up..

Mine did that too at one point. Ended up being the smaller vent hose inside the filler tube was kinked. I tried to repair that, but it ended up doing it again, so I'm playing the "where do you want the nozzle bitch" game too.

Lmfao that's what she said...
One less thing to replace!!
Got truck back from pinstripe today, sanded down lower part of rear bumper, primed and painted it dark gloss grey, took all the plastics off and sprayed em black. Also got a NOS grill emblem off ebay and put that on!
