diff between carter and edelbrock

What's the difference between a carter and edelbrock carb? I'm looking at two 600 CFM carbs. Other than name appear to be the same specs. Also, what is the difference between a small block carb and a big block? Thanks

I have a Carter on my Bronco with a 460 engine and a Edelbrock and my 66 F100 4x4, I see no differance in the way they run or look. As far as a differance between a BB carb and a SB carb, I'm not sure, maybe the size of the jets?

The Edelbrock has molded in the main body, " made by carter ".

Thanks all,
I'm picking up the carter tonight. All i have left is figure out what i'm going to do with the pulleys and power steering pump. Hoping to have it on the road by friday. I'm getting pretty excited.
