Andrew,
you might do some reading on Fordsix.com but IIRC 300s dont react well to super chargers. Generally speaking a SC needs/wants RPMs to build boost and as you know most 300s never go above 3500rpm and are pretty much flat above 2800-3000rpm.

Id stick with the turbo idea personally.

X2! With the low end torque that you want for a good offroad rig, the turbo setup will work for you much better. You'd be making that 300 scream getting the rpms up high enough to make the SC effective.

Well, today is the day. Im about to head off to work and drop the engine in. Hopefully Ill have it running around lunch time.

My next project will be 3.00 gears to offset the increased horsepower. Gotta keep wheel speed up!

Actually, IF I were you, I'd run 2.75 gears.
Think about it, good cruising RPMs on the hwy when you go to the mall, and when you go off road, put it in 4 Lo, and you'd actually be geared pretty good for 40s. haha

I know he used a weld up kit, but you should be able to do the same, with a similar result.

Oh I wouldn't run the s/c on the 300 if for some crazy reason I ran into one. turbos sound cooler anyway

nothing beats the sound of a turbo spoolin up and that high pitched squeal when it hits ful boost. i miss that sound.
