I dont know. I just like the color.

This is a Trans Am performance 545 with flat tops and a .700 lift roller cam. It would probably make 13.5:1 comp and maybe 800hp

the girdle is awsome but also something Ive read that is usually not necessary.

the F600 429 pans are 10qt. Its the same one that L&L sell as an upgraded pan from the 7qt. Go to your local parts store and buy a Melling M84 oil pump with the correct pick up for a 80s F600 with a 370 or 429. All the same monkey.

I've heard that the girddle helps out especially when running the stock style 2 bolt caps, but not really needed when running the 4 bolt caps, that is until you get into the 1000+ hp area.

Sweet! So I'll be getting 10qt pan with the dipstick, all for the low price of a 12 pack of Coronas! Beats paying the $300 for a Canton or Milodine!

You didnt think L&L made their own pans did you?

Its all off the shelf Ford parts that most people dont know will work on their truck so they sell them at a premium.

Im going to use a main girdle when I build the 545 for no other reason than piece of mind. I intend to build a motor I can spray so a girdle and arp 2000 rod bolts will be in order along with the forged pistons H beams and 4340 crank.

Im just ready to get that ball rolling and make sure I get it right the first time with no regrets like I have now.

I know the feeling! THe wife agreed to let me use all of my snow plow money to build the ranger. The sad part is I only made 1 grand this year as we've had no snow. So the rest of the money is coming from overtime at work, which leaves me no time for the truck. It's a crappy trade off, but if I thought of everyting, I should have the whole truck done for around $2500-3000, which is super cheap for a 500-550 hp race truck! But I am having to all of the work myself, and not have the luxary to farm out the machine work t olet me focus on other things. But the good part is I have learned so much more than I would have if I did send it to be machined.

Paul, your gonna kill me! I forgot that the 19th I have to be back in Springfield by 2pm for my daughter, so we can try to get the axle swapped in if we start early in the morning, worst case if we don't finish, we can continue on after I'm done, or resume on Sunday morning. How's that sound?

they paint them so oil flows better out of the galley on high end engines.

Crap - what if pushed it back another week? Dubz' birthday is on the 20th, so I won't be able to drag him along if we have to continue on to the 20th. That and I forgot to ask for off on the 19th anyway lol

WEll most everything i was supposed to have buyers for to make cashfor the crew wetn belly up. Anyone know where i can get lockers,gears,and install kits for a pair of 60s and all my engine build up parts for around $1100?
