Have a look at a Aussie Ford?

Hey guys wouldn't you like one of these parked in your drive way? A Boss 5.4L DOHC 4V V8 260kw Engine, 6 speed manual transmission, 17" rims and lots more gizmos to play with.

Cheers Aussie 53

The Falcon, in Australia, was heralded as the world's longest, UNINTERRUPTED production model about 5 years ago!The Mad Max (Road Warrior) car was just a Falcon Coupe.Google Aussie V8 Falcons and have a ball!
Oh....BTW The UTE was invented in Australia by Ford as early as 37 (?),possibly by a German??? "Church on Sunday,to Market on Monday" was the basis of the CoupeUte,....... it took you guys another 30 years to start making up funny names for them!

Unfortunately guys the big bosses at ford USA will not let ford australia export our falcon cars, utes or sedans over to you guys.
They seem to think that if we start sending our cars over there it will cause more plant closures.
It's a pity, cos it would really save us at ford Australia, as we are quickly going down the gurgler.... and even a mere 40,000 - 50,000 cars a year would keep us going.

Sweet.
GM is beating Ford by importing an El Camino type from Australia.

Truxx56 this thing is the real McCoy. a very potent piece of machinery. Ford have a aluminium flat tray version which is more suited to for the tradesman (contractor) and a RV version ute. They start in price from $36,000US upwards depending on what model you want.

Yup, and the Falcon tooling was sent to S.A. where it was produced for a long time until recently. It has a HUGE following down there, but it is illegal to export the car and parts. As a side note, GM (El Camino) is building a ute but are branding it as a Pontiac. *see this month issue Hot Rod mag.
I don't know if Ford is slow, or that we as a society ( as a whole nation) are just dumb as we still want the obscene sized pick ups and suv's to get groceries. But they build and market what the public buys. Someday soon, Ford will be a division of Toyota or Chinacar.

It is a real shame that ford US will not let us sell our falcons over there , you guys just don't know what your missing out on.

I remember when we started selling mustangs down here again , i think it was around 2000 ? anyway we had one on display down here in the geelong stamping plant for us to check out. And i gotta say that most of us just walked away shaking our heads, the build quality was absolutely terrible, i think that is why they didn't do to well in sales and it's why they were dropped, the same thing happened with the f150's .

I do know that a couple of our falcons were taken to america to show the head honcho's at ford, an that they were VERY impressed with what they saw, but don't know what happened to the cars after that, i doubt that they were sent back ??
