is there any quick fix for a burnt valve??
i got a 1972 302 with what sounds to me like at least 1 if not 2 burnt intake valves. I cant afford a valve job is there some wonder chemical or something that I could use to fix this or does anyone have a spare set of heads for a reasonable price???

Start by switching the firing order like HEMI says. If that magically cures it then good
Next check the spark plug wires. So many people mistake a bad wire for a bad engine. Look at the terminals on the ends. Are they green and nasty? Are they seated on the plug ends?
Look at the cap and rotor too for signs of wear.
If you have a few extra wires lying around try swapping them in where you think your problem is.
To find the culprit take a long common screwdriver and place the metal end on the valve cover and headed or manifold port and use the handle as like a stethiscope to listen for the noise valve.
Once you isolate where you think the problem is check that wire and try to swap in one. Look at the plug, etc.
If you determine you have a problem inside the engine then do a leakdown test, or compression test on that cylinder versus another cylinder that seems good and see what you got.

It's very unusual to burn an intake valve. Usually the exhausts burn as they have the hot exhaust gases running over their heads, while the intake valves have the cool intake charge flowing over their heads.
A burnt valve is one in which material is eroded away from the valve face, preventing it from sealing against its seat. I can't think of how any chemical treatment could build this eroded material back up in an assembled engine.
It seems unlikely you could buy a set of heads for less than a valve job. At the old shop I worked at, sometimes frugal people would bring heads in for a quick valve job. If we found any burnt exhaust valves we'd just grab good used replacements from our stash of parts, reface them and install. But the funny part was we'd never tell the owner since if anything ever went wrong of course he'd blame that used valve for it, even though he didn't want to pay for a new valve(s). But we always made sure the good used parts were truly good.

ok the dizy is new the wires are new the plugs are new the heads were worked over by napa maybe 12-15 years ago i can hear a popping through the carb not back firing its only on the drivers side. I have had nothing but problems with this engine. i wish like hell i had torked that ^&* %@# rod bolt down right I wouldnt be having this problem now. a valve job up here runs 215 + parts but a pair off ebay only runs 270 new

I finally after something else went bad found what was causeing the radical change in air/fuel ratio that ultimately resulted in the engine stalling was caused by. "Worn guides can also pass air. "Unmetered" air drawn into the intake ports past the guides creates an effect similar to worn throttle shafts on a carburetor. The extra air reduces intake vacuum and upsets the air/fuel calibration of the engine at idle. The result may be a lean misfire problem and rough idle." I way not have a burnt valve per say, but something is causing a leak that I can hear.
