ghunt is starting off with a positive reputation.
What's a good diesel muffler?

I got the exhaust finished up on my truck today 93" downpipe and 4" straight pipe out the back). The turbo whistle is great below 1000 RPM, but above that it sounds more like a straight piped gas V8.

I want a muffler that will take away some of the volume & raspiness from the exhaust but keep the turbo whistle. Any suggestions? BTW I prefer it be something with the inlet and outlet directly in line with each other so I don't have to change the pipes.

Flowmaster, I have heard them, and love the sound they produce. Might not be what you are looking for however. Magnaflow sounds good too.

dkf is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Flowmaster has a new Hushpower muffler that they are bragging up the problem is it costs about $200 for the muffler alone. The 50 series HD is the muffler that Flowmaster uses on their diesel cat-back exhausts, they are spendy too but less $$$ than the Hushpower mufflers. If it were me I'd probably stick a magnaflow muffler on.
