Now the factory Warranty it would not matter because no matter what Manufacturer makes the truck there rust proofing is a joke because the metal rust from the inside out..

Besides if the truck is properly oiled every year by the right pro your not going to have issues..

Sean...I wasn't refering to the Corrosion Warranty...I was referring to the applicator not being careful and possibly causing other problems with brake lines etc. that would not be covered by the factory warranty.

Your last sentence...at least in part...reflects what I was saying. If it is legal in your state...you need to have it done by someone who has the proper expertise in order to help prevent future problems.

Vehicles in the coastal areas are often sprayed with lanolin oil here...

Tim, as for your statement regarding the box frame - its not necessarily the use of the box frame that makes it bad, its the application as to how it is used.
It needs to be the right specification metal, appropriate drain holes to ensure no "pooling" of water. It also has to be coated with the appropriate rust sealing coater.

I know GM Wax coats their frames. What method is Ford using with the fully boxed frame?

So as for Toyotas dedication to their customers and not at all a recall are they going to tow each truck one by one to the crusher? I would love to see a youtube video of that. 8 year old trucks to the crusher.

Good eye Ryan...that's the lot we use to display some of our trucks...our 'Yota store didn't have any space to store the hazardous waste Tacomas...so...we tightened up our displays to accomadate them. We didn't want to sacrifice street front display...so...the E Vans in front. By the way...we now have well over a hundred of the Toy-rustys on our lot!!!

Would any of you given up the accessories to the truck when you turned it in? I would have kept the caps, tool boxes and running boards. They could be sold to people with other minitrucks.

Maybe it is too much of a hassel with the rapid departure of these trucks.

We've been allowing folks to remove accessories from their trucks stored in our TOY-RUSTY...grave yard. An ulterior motive is that they have to come in and ask permission...and...we then have an opportunity to try and sell them something. At last count there were 131 in our hazardous waste site!!!

Jeez... the underside of my '01 SD is still pretty clean, and I've driven through 6 years of New York's salted roads for 3-4 months of the year here. And I don't even clean it until spring. The paint is still on my stock Ford hitch

When are people going to realize that certain brands are made to be driven and then crushed, and then there's other brands that you can actually keep for a long time and not worry about stuff like this?

I'll leave which brands fall into which categories to the reader...

Toyota is finally hauling away some of the Toy-rustys this evening. It's kind of humorous...the driver is chaining the trucks down and most of them are looking like inverted Vs...the frames are breaking if he's not very careful.

I wouldn't want to be behind this carrier on the highway!!!
