Toyota rusty Frame buy back

Can you do me a favour - and see if you can find the most serious areas on the frame that are affected and take photos of them?
I would imagine there SHOULD be some commonality between the failures, I am just curious to see where they went wrong on the chassis and how, i.e. wrong spec steel, not appropriate drain points, poor choice of sacraficial cathode etc.
I would also like to see what their definition of "perforation" is too.

Sure might be a day or 2..I was in a hurry yesterday when I took the one's that I did do

It is to my understanding that Toyota owners for the most part did not get a notice on this issue..Caught at the inspection staition at inspection time.
I called a few owners last night and they were taken off gaurd by all of this...LOL

Wow, that is a major issue. So I guess after tacomas age 15 years and there is no rust warranty anymore they will all be in junk yards and no one will want to touch one that even has light surface rust. Like FTE Fred said I found it comical what most of the quotes were. Makes me proud to buy toyota. I might have to buy a inferior chevy with a solid frame. lol

I would have to agree. It is not uncommon at all to see 10+year old Toyota's with rusted through frames. ANd it goes way beyond 1995 models. A cousin has a truck literally break in half right behind the cab. In my experiences, most of the rot seems to occur around the wheel well area, as wells as behind the fuel tank.

Pretty gnarly looking - I'd like to see some frames on trucks from out here and other parts of the southwest and midwest where the roads are not salted and the weather is generally a bit drier. I'll bet the rust is still there, but it will probably take longer to show the kind of damage that is shown in this picture.
