1992 Ford Clubwagon starting problem

I am trying to track down a proble this van is having without guessing and replacing stuff all at once (if that makes since) its a 92 clubwagon 5.0 i believe 130K and it seems random times usualyl when its cold the van wont start it cranks and cranks and wont start then the next day or hours later it starts right up. the fuel pump was replaced 8 months ago and you can hear it kick on . i knwo it needs a tune up its never had one so thats top on the list but i wasnt sure if that could cause it? any ideas

Marginal plugs, wires, cap & rotor certainly "could cause it".

A lousy ignition system can easily allow the plugs to get wet, preventing them from firing.
