HELP!! Rebulid Starter 56 ford 12V
I replaced my shunt and field coils, brushes, put it together and it is drawing way too much. Some kind of short circuit. Here is what is confusing:

- The fiels coils are hot
- The shunt appears to be ground. On the shunt one wire with a connector is grounded behind the ground brush closest to the positive (battery) terminal.
