Hesitates upon acceleration?

My 2001 V6 Escape hesitates on accleration at any speed and stop. I guess it's missing or something to that affect. I replaced all the plugs, upper intakes gaskets and a collapsed vaccum hose (I think Ford said EGR system). It's the large one that connects to the rear of the intake near firewall. I couldn't buy just the connector hose but had to buy the connector hose, tube and another connector hose (lame). Anyways, the Escape has better power but still misses upon acceration. After stepping on it, it eventually catches and speeds up. What could be my issue?

Could be a dirty injector.

Nope, just figured it out. After all that above plus a DPFE and Fule Filter and still a no go. I took my IAC off and cleaned it out a bit with Brake Cleaner and walla, the missing is gone but I got a funny idle. Going to the Auto place now to pick one up.

Weird, changed out the IAC, now the check engine lights up. Idles high, then drops down after about 30 seconds at 2500rpm. Coming to a stop, it stays around 1200 then drops to normal 750. Was my new IAC defective?

Ok, here the solution. Returned IAC and bought the MAF ($120). Also get the torx with security hole (tool). This is what holds the MAF on. Idles perfect and runs like a champ. Wasted a perfectly good San Diego weekend over this.

Well, it was worth it to me, cause I got a pretty good lesson from it (at your expense). Thanks for sharing.

No prob. Isn't that what forums are about? I hate it when I see posts that start out as a valid problem, but then when the original poster finds the problem, he bails and never tells the fix. Glad to be of help.
