I was woundering what kind of hitch is used on the truck to hook to the sled?

Just a regular hitch. All you have to do is run a clevace(sp) through it. Usually the loop in the clevace has to be 3 inches across. I don't know about Las Vegas but here in the midwest the hitch has to be roughly 26inches off the ground.
you mean some thing like this but 3" in diamiter and that slides in to the reciver?

Ya that would be just fine. But it they have ones that are U-shaped with a pin running through them. They fit right into the drawbar. You can get them for like 15 or 20 bucks at Tractor Supply or Rural King.

when my dad was tractor pulling we would make our own draw bars. We would attach it in front of the rear axil so that any downward force would help keep the front tires on the ground.
