Hey Guys! When I bought my truck one of the aluminum rims was dull it appeared that someone tried to clean it and stripped the clear coat off of it. I have been told that there is no way to have it restored other than sending it out. Does anyone have and tips or tricks to do this myself? Thanks in advance.

Your going to have to make sure there is no clear coat left. I've know people to use paint thinners and acids to completely remove it, but you don't want to etch the aluminum so stay with mild agents. Then pick your polish. I've had good luck with Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish, but there are a lot of other good ones such as wenol. To save yourself a lot of elbow grease get a powerball type polisher. Mother's and Flitz make one, but I think there are some others too.
Strip the clear coat, polish and seal with a clear coat or wax. I think Zoops has a kit for sealing/clear coating.
