Duralast Battery dies after 7.5 years

Just replaced a Duralast battery that survived 7 and a half years.
AZ guy couldn't believe it....said they "don't normally last that long"

With proper care, and use I have seen up to 11 yrs. I just replace the original one in my 95 dodge. Excessive heat & cold as well as vibration are the major problems for battery life. Greg

Also how easily the engine starts over the years, and how many times you have left the headlights on and drained it. A battery that is used almost every day seems to last longer too.

I was surprised when I replaced the Everstart battery in my 89, and the battery it replaced was 9 years old. I think I got my money's worth, it only died on me twice.

My battery is at 9 1/2 years old in my 98 F150, Just had the alternator go but replaced it before the battery died - it has NEVER died or quit on me! This is after 7 North Dakota winters, 1 in Montana and one in Eastern Washington with MANY -35 below F cold starts without any complaints! Let alone off road and hunting use.... That being said since I just changed the alt - I think I'll replace the battery this weekend as a preventative measure. Still starts fine but dang - thats a long time for a battery! And I DON"T want it to give out on me at the wrong time! : ) Any suggestions on a good battery??

I'd wait until your truck starts turning over slowly or winter. Judging from the 9 1/2 years you got out of this one, I'm thinking that a Motorcraft would be a good bet.
