All Four Power Locks Quit At Once

I have a 2003 F150, Crewcab and all my locks quit working at once, however, the drivers side will unlock with the remote but not lock. The door switches do not work (lock or unlock) but I can hear the clicking at the remote keyless/ security module. I hear the same click when using the remote. My repair manual (Chilton) addresses what to do if you don't get the click but does not say what the problem is if you do get the click. I've check the basics, wiring, relay and fuses. Any help would be appreciated.

Ken

Does it have a "lock out" switch that locks the other 3 door switches out? that could be bad if so. Greg

I looked it up in the manual, and they have listed a SuperCrew and a Harley Davidson as having 4 doors. The diagram shows the passenger side front and the passenger side rear tied together. They show the two driver's side doors tied together as well. There are only two outputs from a "Central Security Module".

The door switches run into this module, and this module drives the door locks directly. This module is powered by fuse #115, 20 amp in the underhood fuse box when you have the 4 door. This module is located behind the dash panel, left hand side near the steering column.

Ford lock actuators are not known for their longevity either.

Good thought but it does not have the lock out switch for the 3 doors but does have the lock out for the windows.

Dave, I replaced the #115 20 amp fuse with another in the box and it had no affect. I found the security module and remove the clamps so I could position the module to confirm the "clicks" (when door switch or remote is depressed) where coming from the module and they are. I am beginnig to suspect a faulty module but how does one know for sure? Ford wants $189 for a new one but that is a lot of money to use for trouble shooting. I know some threads point to the actuators, however, I find it difficult to believe all four would go at once. Any thoughts? Appreciate your earlier reply!

I think I would get a small battery charger and rig two little small wires to the charge clamps, unplug the connector to the security module, and stick the little wires up in the connector to see if you can make the locks work. I just looked closer at the wiring diagram, and it seems they have a separate feed for the driver's door, and the three other doors are all wired together.

The drivers side front are the red/orange and a pink/black.

The rest of the doors are the pink/black and pink/orange.

I believe if you hook the wires one way, the lock will lock, and then reverse the wires, and they will unlock.
