Toyota 5 speed in a EB?

I can get a 5 speed from a 85' Toyota 4x4. for about $300
Has anyone ever put one of these in a EB? I know they put 302's in toyota's
But can you go toyota trans into a EB? Would it be worth picking up this trans? What kind of adapters would one need?
thanks

Hold that urge.

AA shows no adaptor for that trans to the Ford sb.

https://eshop.advanceadapters.com/co...t-adapters.htm

Rather, go to AA and see about adaptors for NP 3550 or 4500 trans.

The Toyota is a fine trans and shifts like a dream, but won't fit without a lot of custom work in your application (or so it seems) and another box that would perform as well is available almost in bolt-in form.

Besides, $300 is no bargain for a 22 year old trans, imo

The toyota trans is 2o some years old but, it is resently rebuilt with only 500 miles on it.
I only ask about it because $300 + adapters is alot cheaper then $1.400 + $600 in adapters for the np3550 wich is what i would like but can not aford.

The Toyota trans won't hold up to V8 power for long.

A good option to the 4500 is the ZF. They can be found cheap, they are plentiful and the cost to swap one is cheaper than a 3550 or a 4500. The 2 and 4wd version can be made to work, but the 4wd version is a straight forward swap. You want to find one that was behind a 351W.

The Mazda built 5 speed would be a similar swap compared to the ZF. But for the trouble and expense of installing one, there are better options out there, such as the NV3550..
IMO, the Mazda is a failure prone tranmission that suits a street driven stocker F150 only.
