You can't go wrong with JL subs IMO, as they have a great product. In a regular cab setup, I might also recommend the Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F Slim Line subs. They do not have the depth as a regular sub, so they do not require a box as deep, which is perfect for a regular cab. I heard a set in a friend's Ranger and they are great sounding subs. I actually just bought one to put in my Sport Trac, so we'll see how it does in there also...

The Pioneer shallow mount subs are Bad arse and very skinny. The 12"s have a mounting depth of 3.25".

jls are great subs but unless you run w3s your gonna be in a world of hurtin for room. most are about 8+ deep. not a lot of room for them behind the seat.

i have a 99 f-250 reg. cab and i have two kicker comp 12's behind the seat with a Lanzar 4000 watt amp. the full size subs fit behind the seat no problem. any time you have a standard cab pickup, the sub sound quality is limited to where you put them in your truck. the subs just blow into the back of the seat which basiclly quiets them down a bit. i need different subs though, two 400 rms subs just isn't cuttin it! in the near future im thinking about making one solid box instead of two single truck boxes.

good luck gettin a 12w6 behind a reg cab seat and not have to move it forward too far. if someone has please i wanna see it. im not saying it cant be done but i would think most wouldnt like the legroom you loose from building a box to use to w6.

the best thing to do is take the dimensions of the biggest box you can fit and then find a sub that fits that. or is really close. this would be your best bet.
