Blend door actuators gone Bad In my truck?

Hi,

My name is Alex and I'm new to the forum...

I have an 05' kingranch f-350 dually, crew... the works basically.

Any how, just recently I think my blend door actuator went up or broke or something.... not sure, thats Y i'm here, lol. The air is stuck on blowing out of the top vents (on the window, defrost). I have a digital (so I guess thats automatic) control system and when I push any of the buttons to change the vents... well nothing happens...

So my question is what do you think it could be? and How should I go about fixing the problem?

Thanks alot,
Alex

So I have done a lot of reading through the threads and still can't quite figure out my problem.

The system is stuck on Defrost... and I do remember having an issue with my 4 wheel drive last week when I tried to turn it on from inside the cab... wasn't catching for some reason so I had to do it manually.

From what I'm reading and please correct me if I'm wrong... is that it's earthier a vacuum hose/ problem or the Blend air door.

I'm leaning toward's the Vacuum hose/ pump? problem because of the 4 wheel drive issue I had. ( I read that your 4 wheel dive selector changes the truck into 4 wheel mode via Vacuum tubes.... I checked those tubes that are attached to the wheel to see if one had slipped off but it didn't look like it did.. would suspect it because I don't go off road often.

I also read that I should be looking for a "hose tree" near the top of the fire wall??? I can not locate it, lol and I have no clue what I'm looking at.

So, Please any help would be greatly appreciated,
Alex

You probably lost a vacuum line. Both the climate control air flow direction motors and your front hubs operate with vacuum.

The schematic of the truck's vacuum system should be on the emissions label under your hood.

If your vehicle is a diesel (you didn't say), it has a vacuum pump under the hood that supplies these auxillary systems.

Ok,

Found the problem.. it was a vac hose!... lol

A chip munk or something got in under my hood and chewed through a few things. The hose being the one he got al the way through...

Don't think he could still be in there after all that driving do you? Been two weeks now since it first started..

I'm having this same issue, only air coming from the defrost vents. Where did you find that loose vac line? I'm going to have to go search for it tomorrow.

I found the vac. hose on the passenger side. behind the battery. They are about 1/8th in. thick and are made of hard plastic. I just went to autozone and they gave me a 1ft. line that I just slipped right over top of the broken ends. Fixed it perfectly.

Good luck...
Alex

Ps. I have some pics. I just have to get them off my camera cuz I do want to post them so others w/ the same problem can fix it w/o out paying an arm and a leg.
