Oil Leaks Common?

Oil Leaks Common?
I'm considering purchasing a low mileage (~25k) 6.0 powerstroke. I'm mainly looking for something that is well within warranty period. I was recently informed (by another thread) that the 5yr/100,000mi powertrain warranty is only for major parts and would not cover something like an oil leak. Speaking of oil leaks, I've been doing a lot of reading on this forum about oil leaks and they appear to be very common.
My question is:
1) Are oil leaks common? I mean can I just expect to have a few before the truck reaches 100k miles?
2) Is it worth spending the extra $$$ on something with with only 1 yr left on the warranty, or should I spend $10,000 less on something of the same year with maybe 100k miles. There area lots of mint condition King Ranch's out there. I guess I'm not interested in spending the money if the warranty does not come with it.
Thanks for your help and advice.

Im pretty sure oil leaks are covered under the 5yr 100k diesel motor warrenty. After 36k or 3 yrs you have to pay a $100 deductible. A little heads up, the powertrain warrenty (tranny and drive train parts) on 6.0L trucks up to a certain month in 06 (I think it is June) got bumped to 5yr-60k. Before that is was 3yr-36k

There is a post on here about the most common oil leaks in the PSD, you might research that. Only problem is that it won't go into "how often", that I am not sure of. For mine, I have had 3 rear mains go, and an ICP sensor that was leaking and repaired, all under warranty (70k miles). You can purchase extended warranties to 200k miles, I am looking into that now, as my extended warranty to 75k miles is up soon.
Good luck
