Want to change rear end in my 1954 F100

I installed a Mustang II front end with Granada Rotors which are a 5 on 4 1/2 Bolt pattern.

I have the original Rear End on the truck which has a different pattern ( I forgot what).

I am thinking of a few options to get the same bolt pattern on all the wheels.

Can I pull an axel out of another truck/car and install that on my rear?

The other option is changing the rear end entirely to one that matches my bolt pattern. Anyone have any idea's as to which Vehicles would make a good donor?

I would like to avoid cutting the drive shaft if possible

If you have the original rear end I don't think you can swap any axles that have the 4.5" bolt pattern. You may be able to have them redrilled to match. If you went with a Ford 9" you will be able to get 4.5" axles. An aternative a few have said works well is a Ford Explorer rear end which I believe is 8.8" and has the 4.5" bolt pattern along with disc brakes. There is a big tech article on your options, look it up under Articles/Specs on the menu above.
