Want to Replace Distributor on 64 F100

All,

I am looking to replace my original distributor on my 1964 F100, 292 engine, 3 speed. I want to go to a distributor that is breakerless, no points.

Does anyone know what my options are for this size engine? Do you know a vendor who sells the breakerless distributor? Thanks for your help.

You know, I just installed a Pertronix Ignitor I kit w/ Flamethrower coil in my stock distributor for about $100 and 15 minutes. I think it is one of the best ways to go. New complete electronic distributors can cost hundreds, while the Pertronix and coil easily swaps in the place of points and condenser setup.

The most noticeable gain I found was ease of starting and idling. The idle is MUCH smoother. Also, the engine seems more responsive in general. I'm not too sure how much of a power increase there is, but if you consider smooth revving a performance gain, hell its there.

But... if you are set on getting a new electronic distributor, Mallory has some I believe...
