oil pan removal on 302
Yeah, I know there's a million posts on this but I never saw a definate answer. I'm getting ready to do an oil pan gasket and timing cover gaskets. I've been wanting to do them together so there's no chance of messing up the front of the oil pan gasket when doing the timing cover.
I've done a couple pan gaskets in 300 trucks by taking the upper intake off and jacking the motor up. The oil pan comes right out. Will this work with my 302 or will I be stuck with just dropping the pan down far enough to replace the gasket? I'd really like to be able to remove the pan completely so there's no chance of getting any contamination in it. I do plan on powerwashing thoroughly underneath but would still like to remove the pan if possible. I have access to a hoist so that'll make it much much easier.
