Water temp sender

I'm putting in an after market gauge cluster in my 82 f250 with the 400. Is there any were else I can get a water temp signal besides the factory location by the water pump.

Thanks Josh

I had 79 F-150 with a 400, I mounted the probe in the water neck above the t-stat. It didn't read until the t-stat opened, but I figured at least then I would know if the t-stat got stuck.

I had thought about that. There is an extra hole with a plug in it on the housing.

That fitting in the thermostat housing is a 3/8 NPT fitting. It'll take most standard temp switch's without modification. I just used the one on mine for a temp switch for an electric fan setup.
