6.0 PSD tuner and truck warranty?

I am new, and I know this has been covered, just having a hard time finding it.
I just purchased a 2004 6.0 powerstroke f250. It has 50,000 miles (so 1 more year left on the 5 year 100K mile engine warranty). I purchased a seperate warranty from my dealer that covers everything (seriously!) for 36,000 miles, or 3 years. I was told by the service manager that if I put a programer or tuner or chip on the truck it would void the warranty.

I WANT INCREASED MPG and the power and performance is not 1st priority.

Any suggestions???

If there is a problem with the truck and they determine it has had tuner installed, the service manage is correct... there's a good chance they will void the warranty.

Thanks for the input. Is there any suggestions besides increased tire pressure, increased air flow, driving in the low rpms, etc... to increase fuel efficiency.
