EGT gauge question

I installed my EGT gauge yesterday but have one problem....it doesn't work hahahah. I got the gauge to light up and dim with the instrument panel, but can't get it to actually read. My problem is I don't know where a 12v ignition controlled supply is. Anyone know what color wire to use? I was just going to use a vampire clip. Thanks again

I have a 2004 and I used these instructions from Dieselmanor.com which were 100% accurate for my truck.
http://dieselmanor.com/diy/PSD3-gauge/image34.htm
Get these connectors for the wiring at Lowes or another hardware store they work great.

Thanks for the pics. I think the earlier 6.0's are a little different. I have searched all over in my 2006 for the red/yellow wire and can't find it. The wire I used for the dimmer is not yellow either, i can't remember what color it was, but it deff was not yellow bc it was two colors.

was your illum. wire light blue w/ red trace? if so the 12v ign. src. will be the heavy red w/ black trace on the white conn. mounted to the bottom of column mount just above the gear indicator adjustment.
