Suggestions and pics on color...

`65 F100 short stepside 4X4. Its stock ride height. Aluminum grill and bezels. The long widebeds look good in two-tone paint schemes. Early Broncos look good single color, white top with or without accent stripes. Stroppe models look great in three color, but stick out too much. I have not decided on what color to paint my truck. Nothing really jumps out on this body style. My 55 looks great in a single color and many different choices. Any suggestions and maybe pics would be great. I dont care to have another black truck, so thats out. Wimbledom white is a possibility, but not very exciting. Late model Ford yellow looks good on square cabs. Chrome yellow might be too orange with the large coverage areas, but looks great on early Broncos. Dont think much of any shades in green. Just need to make a decision and stick with it. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

Since I first saw my '64, I always loved the deep blue color on these trucks...

The pictures make it seem like a slightly greyish/blue, but its really blue in the sun.

Used to be a 4x4 around here that color - alway caught my eye. It does look darker in person.

Just sift through the gallery pics, there are plenty of nice paints in there. I like the 2 tones, but it seems a bit formal for my truck. Black is out. White is a PITA. How about a silver?

My '92 F150 is a dark red / maroon color. I really like that color on a pickup and I'm thinking that I want my '65 to be either that color or possibly a darker shade of maroon.

For some reason I just like red pickups.

Some shades of red look nice. But my `79 stepside is red. Two tone is out since its a stepside. A widebox would be easy for me to find a color combo. Maybe its just me, but the shape of this style really changes what colors do or dont look good. Guess I could just ratrod it.

I was thinking of making mine a really deep burgendy with two white racing stripes right down the middle. with a little of a flack to it. im not going to worry too much about the bed when it comes to the stripes, its going to be rhino lined anyways. but thats way in the future. lol.

good luck on your color pick!

Mine is all black now but plans are to repaint. I'll keep the fenders black along with the steps on the flareside. Everything else will be a royal maroon or a burgundy color to match the interior of the truck. This maroon or burgundy color will also be used to paint the '68 Mustang I'm working on (see gallery). I like the two tone paint schemes on the older flareside models where the fenders are black.

BarryMc - You got my vote !! That is definitely the best color combination two tone I've seen so far. I wish I could get a better look at that custom grille.

You would think that after all that work he would park those windshield wipers better.

Thanks, BarryMc. I'll be adding another gallery (soon as they fix the gallery link) with pics of the current stages of the Mustang project. Be sure to check 'em out to give me your opinion.

Henry -- I need to park my wipers a little better, too! LOL! One thing at a time though. There are other things with the truck I wanna fix first.
