Shucks, I ran across an old friend many years ago on I-40 that was driving a CYANIDE truck...
(Used to be my shop supervisor)
He said the medical benefits and insurance were superb!
tell him you have an old Senior Chief that could use some of that stuff....and i don't mean the benefits.

Half joking is a first clue.....
I HAVE IT BAD - YOU have a better retirement plan than me....
Thanks for the vote of confidence *********! DO you have any idea, with MY PROBLEMS how many times I have looked at the gulches along the road I drive, and just wondered:
"WHY NOT END IT HERE? What point would it make? Just a right turn right here... NO one would doubt it."
I was traveling home from work one day in my 90 BII going down I-70 in MD. It had been raining earlier and traffic was at a stand still. The traffic report came on saying there was a terrible accident ahead and the police were turning traffic around. I was in a section that had no off ramps or turn abouts. The car in front of me decided to go across the median and when doing so got stuck in the mud. I pulled up next to the car
and asked if they needed help. the guy got out looked at his Crown Vic in a now 2 piece suit looked and listened to my truck doing the typical 2.9 lifter clatter and said what can you do. I politely told him I could pull him out. He laughed. I got out went to the back pulled out my tow strap hooked it to the front of his car, pulled in front of him hooked up to my D ring locked my hubs and told him to follow me. Pulled him right out and across the road. When I got out to unhook us he shook his head in disbelief shook my hand and gave me his business card. He told me to send him a bill I told him there was none. He thanked me again and took off in a big hurry. I looked at the card later to find out he was with the DEA.

There are some things in life which self-will cannot overcome. Just ask any long-time sober member of AA, or anyone who's dealt with life-long depression. If you haven't talked to someone like that, I suggest you try. One of my best friends in the world went from the depths of addiction to a happy, productive life with 20+ years of sobriety under his belt --- I admire the hell out of that.

Hey Ken, I just talked to one of those people today, an 86 year old X Marine DI I call my friend and sponsor. You see I am one of those people and yes I just divulged my anonymity and I am a Greatful Recovering Alcoholic.

I know what you mean - I had four at one point and then I got married to the wicked witch of the south. Then again I once had sixteen, and my older brother decided we should share some things...
It's kinda tuff to beat it when you get introduced to it like that.
I know many in recovery and personally I choose not to drink (though I'm not an alcoholic). Too much baggage and too much risk with it --- plus I make enough stupid mistakes without pouring goofy juice down me! Haven't had a drink since I was 17. 23 years without a drop and counting.

Clean and sober for 32 years now...I WILL NEVER DRINK AGAIN! My kids and grandkids have NEVER seen me take a drink, and never will. I was not a pleasant drunk.................
