The cats on diesels are a one way they only reduce NOx I belive. And the cats on newer cars are three ways they reduce HC CO and NOx

So I do not have to look for a "diesel" cat? ... Whew ... Now time to price the best one to fit under a heat shield ...

Well there may be a difference in the design of the catalyst where as the diesel cats would have larger area for gasses to pass to prevent it from getting plugged with carbon. Why are you trying to put a cat on any ways? If yours is plugged remove it and put pipe in. If you don't have one and your trying to pass emisions get a used ome and knock the guts out. They have little to no efect on emistions numbers on a diesel but make the tree huggers happy.

In that case ... It looks like it is gonna be 3 inch from the heads to a "y" then a 4 inch single stack with perf heat shield on the drivers side ... Don't wanna smoke out the pedestrians ...
