06 5.4 12800mi,, pulled and cleaned plugs

Well finally decided to pull the plugs and clean them. Truck does light towing and gets good gas and sometimes off brand gas. They all came with rust like all the pics show on other threads. If the rumor of ford putting antiseize on the plugs is true, they forget to do mine or it burned off. I used a small cheater bar on the rachet and pb blaster. One thing I did notice, i took truck in for the leaking injector and they changed that injector and plug at around 2000mi. So when i pulled that plug, it came out like butter, with alot of rust though. I had fun and it was alot easier than my 99 f250 5.4.

Wow!! It sure is a pleasant change of pace compared to what we've been treated to in recent years. I have a 04 fx4 w/5.4 3valve and they(Ford) had not made the changes i have been hearing of in later models. I changed mine out at 41,000 from all the worry about the whole deal and I did break one plug clear in the back drivers side wouldnt you know. Anyway Glad to hear a success story once in a while. Im still a ford boy!!

You Made out good. I paid 19.00 for mine 10 months ago and also spent 139.00 for the extraction tool for the plugs. not to mention I paid 150.00 for my new plugs I got the ford racing plugs hate to say it but I dont think I needed them. I hear the Pzt 1 plugs are just the ticket.
