When i rebuilt the 95 powerstroke, i put gaskets on them, the fibrous type with the steel ring around the exhaust port. Works quite well. I had two choices, that or the steel ones which i didnt really trust.

 

They both work very well, I have yet to have one leak.

 

I got a great deal on the new manifold - $103.00 so for the $60.00 difference, the mechanic and I agreed that there was less risk.

When he removed the driver's side manifold, the up pipe fell out. The pipe had no flare. They flared it put it back in.

i hope things work out ok. im curious on how many miles your truck has?
it would help out alot if you filled your signature with info of your truck so we know what kinda things we should expect when problems occur, especially with us Newbies.....

Ok, I'll work on signature.

My 00 F250 SC, LB 4x4 has 162K on it. I bought it with 160K and I am a newbie too.
