Y Block intake

Is there any differnce in a 272 intake and a 292, 239 or 312 intake? I think I know the answer but want to make sure. I appreciate any help. Bing

Yes

My rebuild kit came with 3 sets of intake gaskets. The runners have different size openings and are spaced different. As to what size/years are the same or different, I do not know. Sure someone will speak up...

I believe the 239 y-block had a lot of different parts which were NOT interchangeable with any of the bigger y-blocks 272, 292, 312...

Yes the manifold will work on '56 272/292 heads. There isn't any specific 272" head, they are the same. Although your '56 heads have smaller ports it will fit.

It will not fit earlier heads like Matt stated. Although they will pysically bolt up the 239/256" heads, they will not seal properly.

BFOOTER,

I was just looking at the manifold/carbs setup the you gave the ebay number for. I didn't read the whole ad earlier. I just wanted to warn you that the price may go high I wanted to warn you that although the manifold is as stated, the carb are NOT Strombergs as stated but Ford/Holley 94's. Stromberg never made a Model 94 carb.
Nothing wrong with Ford 94's, but Stromberg 97's are much more rare and/or desirable by Hot Rodders and bring a much higher price.
Just didn't want you paying for something that's not there.

Appreciate the additional follow up. I have prepared my self for a high price and also noticed the carbs are Holley's. I would love Strombergs but have also realized they are a LOT more expensive. Thanks again. Bing

Matt here is 2 more. I forgot to mention that Strombergs are available again brand new, so you can get all parts to rebuild and /or upgrade to old ones

It's not in a truck though, sorry guys. It's in my '55 two door RanchWagon.
