Brake ?

1. What's the best pad, rotor combo out for the money.
2. Do you really need to replace spindle and lower A arm nuts if you take them off?
3. Orded bilstien 5100 from shock warehouse, paid for them, and then they informed there on back order, WTF?

http://www.designrt.net/rotor.htm. Check these guys out I just bought 4 drilled and slotted rotors for my truck for under 200.00 bucks. I was skeptical but they seem to be great with hawk suv pads.

you're asking a very subjective question, that will lead to pages of results. Then you'll have to sift through them, so best of luck to you!!

Hmmm...I have a set of the same shocks you seek. I ordered them for my 2002, but am going to go ahead and sell it now since I got a 13k offer for it.

Make an offer.

Just wanting some opinions, don't want any unwanted noise when appling the brake.

1. Stock pads will give you a lot of dust. Ceramic pads are the way to go. No where near as much dust, no squeaking etc. I got all my rotors/pads from Napa and have been happy.

2. I dont know about the a arm nuts. Is it 2wd or 4wd? I believe you need to replace the hub nut on a 2wd but when I did my brakes/shocks/etc on my 4wd...I never replaced anything on the lower A arm.

3. Don't worry. I ordered Procomp shocks from 4wheelparts and the same thing happened to me...

That was a helpful comment...

Seems they would be different but if they are the same...why not put the shocks on your 08

Thinkin about going with power slot with hawk pads, don't know yet.
Seems the shocks are on back order from bilstien, so it wasn't shockwarehouses fault, perhaps I should think before sending a nasty gram next time. Lower A-Arm and spindle nuts both haft to be torqued over 300, ford doesn't call to replace them but with that torque, might do it anyway.

What benefits do you get with the factory pads? I changed to ceramics and couldn't be happier. I hated all the dust.

My stock shocks are fine for the next 30k miles. If I don't sell them before then, then I will use them on my 08. I just wonder if they sit for a couple of years, if they'll still be as good as new...

The others are right about the dust from the OEM pads...sheesh! I'll go with slotted and ceramics on my next set.

I was having the dreaded shimmy felt in the steering wheel during breaking...I replaced the rotors with Powerslot Cryo treated rotors....I'm very happy. ~ 15,000 miles on them and no issues at all. I put the Hawk LTS pads on when I replaced the rotors. Breaking is better then stock, the LTS pads are carbon-metallic, I'd say the break dust is average.
Ceramic pads are great for low dust...Do ceramics last longer then the average carbon-metallic? How about rotor wear?
