Talking Pulse HPOP Installed

I have to thank Bob from dieselsite.com for coming up to the area on the Pulse Tour and Andy for the use of his shop. It was a pleasure to meet both of them and Alex and Jake.
The Pulse smooths out the idle and increases the power through the power band. It's gonna be hard to get some mpg numbers for a while because of the added power and heavier foot
I'm gonna try to get to Cecil County this weekend to get some 1/4 mile times. I'll post again if I do. I just don't have any pre-Pulse numbers on the track. I'll get some dyno numbers in August at Carlisle, if not before then.
The CPR Fuel System sounded great on Andy's truck. Now I have to start saving up for that too. Bob sure has some great products out there and a wealth of information.

i didn't take any pics because i didn't have a camera with me. it might be a little hard to see with the stock fuel bowl in the way but i'll take a couple anyway after work.

Well, i'm running Swamps 175/173s (Stage 2s) so Bob recommended that I get my chip reburned. If you are planning to get the Pulse then sticks, I would wait until you get the sticks before you get Tony to reburn your chip. But you could get it reburned anyway. Personally, I would wait to save Tony's time in reburning the chip because I don't think there would be much of a benefit of a chip reburn with just the Pulse. But I could be wrong. I'm not the expert. Bob would be the one to answer that accurately.

i took a couple pics of the pulse installed to show that you can get all the high pressure oil that you need with the stock fuel system still in place. the first pic is looking at the top of the motor with the fuel bowl at the top and hpo reservoir at the bottom. the Pulse is the flat black part under the loom between the two. the second pic, you can see a little more of the Pulse at the top of the pic.

I removed the fuel bowl, Bob from dieselsite.com removed my stock pump and installed the Pulse, then I reinstalled the fuel bowl. Just watching Bob, it is not that hard of a job to remove and replace the hpop.

Am i understanding correctly that the pump will purge air on its own?

yes. the air will purge itself out. after the install, we put about a pint of oil into the hpo reservoir (brass colored thing with the allen head plug at the bottom right corner of the first pic), cranked for about 5 seconds and it fired right up. the next few starts also took about 5 seconds of cranking to start. then after the hour or so ride home at highway speeds and a couple hard accellerations, i'm back to the normal 1 or 2 second crank to start
